The Highcom 4SSS2 represents the pinnacle of lightweight ballistic armor solutions, featuring a silicon carbide ceramic strikeface backed by a high tensile strength polyethylene backer. Silicon carbide provides a good balance between weight and performance compared to other ceramics, as it is lighter than alumina, but tougher than boron carbide, with a higher resistance against tungsten carbide threats. With a weight of only 2.7kg for a medium plate, it stands as the premier level 4 lightweight standalone plate available in the UK market.
